Will a New Rail or Ladder Fit Your Existing Pool Anchors?
Most rail and ladder replacements come down to one question: what anchor is already in your deck? Get that right and the replacement drops in. Get it wrong and you're coring concrete.
Measure the outside diameter of your existing rail tubing — commonly 1.90 inches or 1.50 inches — and the center-to-center spacing of the anchor sockets. Photograph the escutcheon and the anchor from above. With those three pieces of information we can usually confirm a compatible replacement without a site visit.
Next choose the grade of stainless. Indoor pools with chloramine-heavy air are hard on stainless steel and generally justify a higher-grade alloy and a regular cleaning routine. Outdoor and saltwater environments have their own requirements. If your current rails are already showing rust bloom, the material grade or the maintenance routine is usually the cause — not a defect.
